Need advice on incontinence? |
my male flat mate continuously wets the bed, he doesnt think its a prob. is there anything for incontinence? dont think he would go to the docs or anything. He probably does think it's a problem - but doesn't want to admit it. There are many reasons for incontinence and he really does need to get it investigated. Most reasons are relatively easy to fix, but he may have diabetes, which has deeper health implications. Why not pop along to your local doctor's surgery & see if they have any leaflets on incontinence? You probably won't even have to ask for them as many health information leaflets are on display in reception. get him some pampers maybe he is just too embarassed to go see a doctor. it might be a sign of an under lieing health issue. try and talk him into going to see a doctor. there are a few items on the market to help. I have seen matress covers that have an alarm on then when they get wet so it will wake him up when he starts to pee. you can always call a health unit or ask at a pharmasist about this isse too maybe they can give you some more ideas. don't interfere it might upset him There can be medical reasons for this. Also although you do not indicate his age this is very unusual for a younger male. He needs to have this investigated by a physician. It may even be that he is sleeping so deeply that he is not aware the need to go to the washroom. most cases of incontinence is psychological. there are some things you can do, but he's the one who will need to want to change, right now it doesn;'t seem as if he does, or perhaps he's just afraid of trying He can buy incontinence underwear, in to which he can insert a pad which would need to be changed on a regular basis. They are not a dear item to buy and would seem to be the answer, how ever he might have an infection of the bladder which is affecting his ability to control the passing of urine and this needs to be sorted out before it progresses from something embarrassing to something possibly life threatening. there are remedies, he should see a doctor |
