How does vaginal child birth cause stress incontinence in women ? Does it happen with C-sections, too ?

I was wondering if some one coudl explain to me how vaginal child birth disrupts the bladder and causes stress incontinence in women ? Also, does it happen if a woman has a c-section ? And, if natural child birth (vagina) causes al these problems for women, why recommend it instead of a c-section ?

In vaginal birth the uterus can prolapse and put pressure on the bladder. Vaginal births are preferred to c-sections because there are less risk associated with vaginal births.

The birth doesn't disrupt the bladder. Carrying a child on your bladder for 9 months does. If you are pregnant and that is something you really worry about happening, then you should try a belly sling. Basically it is this elastic or cotton band that you wrap around the underside of your belly (down at your pelvic region) and it fastens around your back. It gives support to your lower back and keeps the weight of the baby off your bladder.

i have had 2 kids all natural with another one on the way. i have had to problem with my bladder. well the only time i really do is when iam pg and my guess is just from being pg and carring the baby;s weight around. but after i have them i have had no problems at all. good luck
