Stress Incontinence?

Help! I am so upset because im in my mid forties/female, and when i have a cold i keep weeing every time i sneeze or cough! It sounds funny i know - but its really getting me down, i have to keep changing my clothes[when theyve only been on for a very short time, i really soak myself yet i dont want a wee? Im also getting sore and chapped, and im afraid it smells! I also get it sometimes when i do anything like run, jump, laugh?? I would really appreciate some good advice on what i can do to stop this happening. Thanks

The problem with incontinence is the feeling of guilt and shame taught to us by our parents, it lasts a lifetime.

Most women who have had children will suffer from it at some time in their lives.

Your best bet is to ask in your surgery, your doctor if you prefer, the telephone number of your local continence advisor, there will be one near you.

These advisors specialise in all aspects of incontinence, are very symapthetic and understanding and will definitely help you.

Don't feel embarassed or guilty, it is more common than you think.

You need to go to the doc who will advise you what to do.

You may have an infection so I would suggest you go to the doctor. Perhaps you need to strengthen your pelvic floor muscles. These are simple and discreet exercises which you can do anywhere and anytime. Your doctor will be able to describe these to you.
All the best.

go see your doctor, there is a very simple operation you can have to sort this out

oh i know how you feel, i had a cold recently and the running nose was not the only thing i had to worry about. Buy some Tena lady panty liners, they do help a lot. also a trip to gp as there are things that can be done ofr us like physio etc
