What is vitro fertilization?

What is vitro fertilization?

In Vitro fertilization is where they extract eggs from the female and get a sample of sperm from the male. They pretty much mix them together in a petrie dish and insert the fertlized eggs back into the female. Then you hope that one or more attatches to the walls of the uterus...and you have a baby! Usually with In Vitro, you usually have more than one though

In vitro means something happening outside living things. So egg is fertilized in lab and put into woman's womb.

It is actually "in vitro fertilization". It actually means "in glass", where the sperm and ovum are joined artificially in a laboratory setting, then the fertilized ovum is replaced in the uterus, to help people with fertility problems. The resulting babies used to be called "test tube babies".

It's called "in vitro fertilization". That means that the female egg cell is mixed with the male sperm in a test tube.

After that the fertilized egg cell will be implanted in the womb of the mother who will wear the child and give birth to it after 9 months.
