Vaso dilators and impotence? |
My partner is 64yo and has been taking Rampiril for high blood pressure for some time. Unfortunately, it has caused him to be unable to maintain an erection - is there another medication he can switch to that doesn't have this side effect? Even if there is another antihypertensive that he could take, you still need a prescription to get it.... which means that either way, he still needs to see the doc. The best bet (if possible) is to loose weight and control high blood pressure naturally. Garlic / Onions and other foods are narural cardio vascular dialators. Eliminate almost all sodium (aka salt) from diet. Of course this should be discussed with your doctor. The high BP damages organs if left untreated. If any way possible to get off the meds DO IT. Then the impotence will not be a problem. Nitropress? Go to RxList.com and research vasodilators. They have some options and they list the dosage, side effects, everything you need to know about a medication. That way he can find one that is more suitable and discuss it with his doctor. |
