Impetigo Maybe?

I've Had A Red Rash sort of thing under my nostril..
And Some days its more red and more dry than other days,
and my mum thinks it could be impetigo?
What do you think it could be?
And how do you get rid of impetigo anyway?
Please,
thanks,
x

Impetigo is a bacterial infection and has a wet, yellow blistered and puss-filled appearance, this then hardens to a crust, it spreads quickly if untreated, it looks like yellow blisters to begin with, bit hard to describe really.

It does spread rapidly, so unless yours has spread round the area, I dont think its impetigo. Im a pharmacy dispenser and have a 5 year old who gets impetigo a lot, what you are describing doesnt sound like it.

Theres nothing you can buy over the counter for impetigo, if it is that, the gp needs to prescribe some Bactroban cream for you, and its prescription only.

From what you describe, it doesnt sound like impetigo very much, if anything, its sounds more like a cold sore, which you can get some Zovirax for over the counter.

Could be a cold sore. Impetigo spreads quite quickly. its usually wet. Go and see the doctor. Can't be nice having that under your nose.

Impetigo is very contagious, you touch it and then touch somewhere else you'll get it there. So unless you have it other places I don't think its that. Try to put Cortizone-10 on it.

impetigo is like a spot if you scratch it, it will weep its highly infectious use your own towls and flannels, the doctor will give you some cream that will form a skin over the spot to stop it spreading and it will also heal it you can pass it on to other people as its contageous.
