Impetigo??? |
I have had this twice last year and it was so annoying! I had to go on anitbiotics both times! Now on my face (ugh) i had a pimple but now it kind of has a yellow crust. I am scared it might turn into impetigo. I am going back to school soon and i don't want it to be! Do you use makeup? If so, the same bacteria that caused it the first time could still be in the makeup. I've had impetigo before too, on my arm, and I washed all my sheets twice and changed my bandages twice a day. this skin disease is highly contagious,,it can easily spread more...i think u should apply topical antibiotics everytime after washing ur face..r u can use also systemic antibiotics This is caused by a staph infection, so you do not want to doctor it yourself, with over the counter products. You should go back to the doctor who treated you for it in the past and ask your questions there. I had an allergic reaction to a medication (maxalt melts, which is a medication that dissolves in your mouth quickly) and the hives I got on and around my lips got an infection in the broken skin, which turned into impetigo. It was not attractive, let me tell you, and I had to see a dermatologist, who gave me a shot of an antibiotic in the hip, to get the medicine started right away, quickly, plus a prescription antibiotic and a steroid cream. Don't let the problem linger, because it can get real bad, real fast. i havent heard of impetigo. long time ago we had what was called infantigo--dont guess its the same. back then all we could do was keep it clean and clean it with peroxide When my son had it years ago, he wouldn't blow his nose but rather wiped it, so it spread everywhere. I got prescription antibiotic ointment (bactroban), but first had him dab the sores with hydrogen peroxide to kill the surface bacteria (I know that sounds harsh, but it had to be done before his entire head was just one big sore, and it wasn't painful for him), wash, dry, then apply the bactroban. On that regimen, the sores were healed in a couple of days. He also scratched his eye and developed pinkeye, he was a mess. CHECK THIS SITE OUT....http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/impet...
