Recurring Impetigo?

I think I have a problem,

This is the third time I have had impetigo this year and my doctor on the second time said it was just bad luck, this time however I am not so sure. (Lucky for me because its happened this many times. I can tell early if it is impetigo so I can sort it out)

The thing is though is that I noticed it happens usually around when I have a girlfriend or french kiss girls.

I am a very clean person and shower everyday, my mum said it's because I am not cleaning my room often which is probably bull.

I take good care of my skin and use moisterisurs on my skin.

Can someone please help as it's becoming an embarassing problem for a 17yr old.

Basically my question is, how can I stop it recurring again.

Yes, I know. I had it, think I got it from working at a veterinary clinic, I had a hard time getting rid of it and then it kept coming back. And then my kids got it. It was awful. Finally a Dr. told us that the bacteria can hide out in your nostrils! Yuck I know. He gave me antibiotic and Erythromicin gel/ointment to put just inside the base of the nose. And it worked. Never came back. Good Luck.

listen i'm a girl and i can't wear perfume so maybe ask your girl not to wear perfume or perfumed makeup CLINQUE is a safe bet and the perfume too Report It

You need your own towels and face cloths and they HAVE to be boiled after each use or put on a very hot wash in your machine (i.e. 95C)! It is a highly contagious disease!

If you use face creams in a pot don't dip your finger into it - use a spatula and wash your hands after every application! Wash your sheets and duvet covers etc daily (pref on a hot wash again - if they are poly/cotton you won't be able to do them on a 95C but as hot as possible)!

These things may seem drastic but as I said it's highly contagious - try not to touch it - if you do wash your hands in anti-bacterial soap and hot water (as hot as your hands can stick it)!

Get cream from your Dr too!

Your Mum is trying to get you to clean your room!
You get impetigo when you come into contact with the disease, I wonder if the times you are catching it are coincidence. Or maybe you have a strain which is resistant to antibiotics and comes back?
Or maybe its on something like your moisturiser bottle?

Go see your gp and mention the fact that you've had it 3 times in one year, it might just be bad luck.
Hope you get this sorted. :)

stop kissing ha ha but don't use other peoples towels change your sheets and pillows on your bed regularly keep up the hygiene

if you've had this before expect to keep getting it - you didn't say what your doctor prescribes but it normally only goes with antibiotics - try sudo cream which is for babies is very gentle but don't use on open sores - you need to work out something in your diet that sets it off - its not from kissing or not cleaning your room - do you get it when your stressed ?

i'd try a different doctor (maybe a dermatologist, if u haven't tried that). i don't mean 2 scare u, but it could b MRSA, especially if u play a sport or r in a gym class. that could explain y treatments haven't been working.

Impetigo is caused by Staphylococcus aureus. It is highly contagious. Anything you come into contact with must be washed in hot water and bleach. Would suggest highly cleaning your room.

At the hospital I work at, that kind of infection gets you your own private room with a neat looking isolation sign on it.
All personnel that must go into that room have to gown and glove.

Anything that has come in contact with your skin must either be washed and disinfected or better yet, dispose of it; the towels, clothing etc...
