Can i still work in catering with impetigo?

i have impetigo on my arm can i still handle food

i don't think so - your GP should be able to give you advise

I don't think so, not unless you can cover it safely. You need to contact the Health and Safety Executive (HSE)

It's contagious, probably not through touching things but through touching other people. If you shake someone's hand they might catch it.

Impetigo is highly contagious, if a child has it they have to be kept off school, so I am pretty sure that you shouldn't be in work until it clears up, especially because you handle food. Health and safety issues and all of that stuff.

Don't think so, it's highly contagious. Easy to clear with antibiotic cream, though.

DON'T PICK, btw. I did when I had it last year, and it hurts like heck.

Absolutly not. It's far too contagious. Health regulations forbid it.

Impetigo is horribly contageous. I hope you have meds for this, PLUS, I hope you have the cream (prescription) that you put into each nostril to get rid of this.
You do NOT work in catering with this. As an example: My friend borrowed my sleeping bag for her son to go camping. The sleeping bag was washed by my friend, and, again, by me. About a month later, my son slept in the sleeping bag. My son broke out with impetigo on his legs. My friend casually mentioned, THEN, that HER son had had impetigo when he used our sleeping bag.
When I lived in Southern CA, it was not unusual to see entire families infected with impetigo. The heat was like an incubator for the impetigo.
Please, treat the impetigo as a serious problem since it really is. If you had seeping sores, you would not work in catering. This, impetigo, is as contageous as seeping abcesses on your arm.

contact your local department of public health medicine. they are responsible for the follow up of notifiable infectious diseases and have policies on such things.

no
it is highly contagious

No,you crusty-faced bastard!
