Impetigo help im going mad..... :-(? |
i started taking antibiotics on monday and the affected area is killing me it hurts everytime i walk and i cant sleep at night because it hurts and itches i went to the doctor and asked for a cream or something but the recepcionist told me to take paracetamol......what can i do please help the doctor said it was impetigo after looking at it ..i got it after i shaved First of all, the receptionist had no right to tell you to take paracetamol. She is not the doctor. Had she seen your medical notes and if so, why? are you sure its impetigo and not shingles? Try hydo-cortizone 5% cream. You can get it at any phamacy. You can also ask the phamasist for advice. go back to your doctor and explain that you are still in pain, there is a cream that they can prescribe to ease the discomfort and by the way it has nothing to do with the receptionist! She is just that a receptionist!! She can't send you away and tell you to take anything. lush dream cream works realy well on mine. its not dirt cheap but not the most exspensive either and it realy helpt me. Use only dial soap and don't scratch it will spread it. Try chamomile lotion. I treated it with Lion Ointment several years ago, but Imdont know whether its still on the market. What you have is the most contagious skin disease you can get. It can be transferred from any item that you touch. Have your own towel and washing materials. Disinfect door knobs or anything else that you touch and others can follow. Doctors receptionists are the worst kind of clever dick. They are non medical but because they work for a doctor they think they have some right to act like a doctor. You should see a doctor on this as it could spread and cause a lot of pain and discomfort. No this is not good enough, go back to your doctor or explain to a nurse that you require more medical help. Impetigo is extremely infectious and will drive you nuts. You are entitled to a second opinion and do that now today. |
