What's Impetigo?

Impetigo is a skin disorder caused by bacterial infection and characterized by crusting skin lesions.

Impetigo is a common skin infection. The skin normally has many types of bacteria on it, but intact skin is an effective barrier that keeps bacteria from entering and growing within the body. When there is a break in the skin, bacteria can enter the body and grow there, causing inflammation and infection. Breaks in the skin may occur with insect bites, animal bites, or human bites, or other injury or trauma to the skin. Impetigo may occur on skin where there is no visible break.

Impetigo is a bacterial skin infection. It causes red sores that can break open, ooze fluid, and develop a yellow-brown crust. These sores can occur anywhere on the body but most often appear around the mouth and nose.

it's a rash that beigns with red spots and turns into tiny blisters than can rupture an..it spreads quickley and can itch...happens mostley when it's hot outside, it's a skin infection caused by a streptococcal bacteria...it can give y ou kidney promblems, so if you have this, go to the doctor...

impetigo is a skin infection that maybe caused by two kinds of bacteria staphylococcus or streptococcus. Most of the time it doesn't have complication but it may require a treatment by antibiotic.Only a doctor can decide ,it depends of the extent of the lesions and other factors.

Impetigo is a common, contagious, superficial skin infection that is produced by bacteria. The two most common bacteria that cause impetigo are Streptococcus and Staphylococcus. This infection is more common in children than in adults. If not appropriately treated more serious complications may arise.

The most common form of impetigo is called bullous (blistering) impetigo and derives its name from the initial presentation of one or more rapidly enlarging flaccid blisters. These blisters are filled with a yellow cloudy liquid and easily rupture giving way to red erosions that are ultimately covered yellow scab.

Another form known as nonbullous (nonblistering) impetigo appears to be a secondary infection. Some minor injury to the skin such as a cut or insect bite allows the bacteria to enter otherwise intact skin. Typically multiple pustules will erupt, merge together, rupture and form a characteristic red erosion with scab.
