My son has impetigo at the tip of his nose no idea how he got it? |
the doctor has given him an antibiotic cream for it but it doesn't seem to be getting any better and it looks like it spreading into his nostrals ,gonig back to doctors tommorrow morning should i ask for another treatment ? I got it from taking vitamins. Heard it can come from cats also. ...impetigo is nasty...you don't say how old your son is but my boy caught it at school....like head lice...kids share it...is he still in contact with a possible other source of it...they may not have it on their face....my boy had it on his knee....ask the doc for aqueous cream....steroid creams do get rid of it but can dry the skin and MAY leave a little scaring......just make sure the area is kept moisturised...good luck...it is a pain for the whole family....a risk if you have kids just like head lice...xxx My children had that 2 years ago. It was rife at their local playgroup. My doctor asked had their been any eastern European children in the play school. Not sure just what the connection was! Has he been putting his nose in other peoples' business??? lol This complaint is caused by the scratching of a spot or sore place with dirty hands and fingernails. Use the cream and stop him scratching and be sure that he keeps his hands and nails clean especially after using the toilet. Give him a separate towel as it is very infectious and can spread though a family. Finish the course of cream as it does take a while to go.Best of luck. It is caused by a Bacterial skin infection by streptococcus or Staphylococcus aureus. I found a site that will be useful to you ask a phisician It is caused by a bacteria called Staphylococcus aureus.. He could have got it from numerous places, sharing a drink cup at nursery/school, playing in the garden etc. too many examples to hazard a guess.Buy a good moisturiser to stop it drying out and scarring and ask the doctor for a bacterial or steroid cream to help clear it up. it can be very very itchy but try not to let him scratch as this can scar.. easier said than done though lol Impetigo is a skin infection which spreads like wild fire, make shore he doesn't touch the infection and then other parts of his body as he will end up covered, it is VERY contagious, the creme will work eventually! THAY CAN GET IT OF OTHER KIDS AT SCHOOL OR ANY ONE THAT HAS IT BY TOUCH THERS A ANTIBIOTIC CALLED FUEGETON WHICH CAN GET RID OF IT QUICK MY SON HAD IT SOME YEARS BACK AT HIS SCHOOL THAY HAD TO SHUT FOR AWEEK |
