AIDS and Immunization?

DO NOT ANSWER IF YOU DONT HAVE FACTS

Can a person with AIDS have immunization or will their body develope the disease to it's full extent.

NO.. not imunisation against AIDS people. haha I mean If someone has AIDS can they get imunisations..as in thye ones the rest of us get. MMR stuff like that. Imunisation contains a small amount of the virus that the body will be protected from. Your body fights that off and then you are immunised against that disease.. IS this also the cause for someone with AIDS.???

I have read alot of it but no where does it mention vaccinations for normal diseases and whether or not you can take them if you have Aids

It depends on the vaccine.

As a general rule, people with AIDS should avoid live vaccines (for example the chicken pox, and probably the measles vaccines).

However, killed vaccines, or vaccines made from non living proteins are safe (for example hepatitis A and B and tetanus toxoid).

Some diseases have both a live vaccine and a killed (inactivated) one available, for example polio and typhoid. If people with HIV/AIDS need to be vaccinated against these, they should always choose the inactivated vaccine, not the live attenuated one.

If it has progressed from HIV to full blown AIDS it's too late

AIDS is the full extext of the HIV virus. the immunization, or coctails or whatever they call them, can stunt the spread of the virus but you must live a pretty healthy life. You may consider reading about AIDS or HIV on wikipedia. Also, Magic Johnson is a good indication on how someone can live with AIDs. Maybe read a brief biography of his life after getting AIDS

I agree with Snout - people with AIDS can get the general immunizations like the hep b vaccine etc.

I'm HIV+ and I had to have the hep b vaccine and I'm fine.
