I've just had my Tetanus immunization today?

At school, But now apparently i need the TB jab sometime this year as You need tetanus immunization first, Then TB done at the docs. How long do i have to wait until i have it? I'm 15. 16 This year.

Thanks

I had my BCG when I was 14 but it's usually done at 16 if you are concerned you can ask your doctor to sent you a letter when you are able to have the immunization.

I believe when your 16, i had mine a fair few years ago now.

You are only ever immunised once against TB, 10 yrs for tetanus. The TB involves 2 jabs, 6 pinprick needles and put into the forearm with a small amount of the virus, to see whether you have natural antibodies. It doesnt hurt btw. A week later they will look at the marks and decide whether u need the full immunisation. This is into the upper arm - a normal jab. It is normal for the area to turn into a cut and look infected.

I'd never get a Tetanus or TB immunization. It's linked to all kinds of autoimmune dysfunctions and disorders. Don't believe me? Look it up.

the tb is done every 5 yrs i think. and it not really even a shot. they put only the tip of the needle right underneith you skin and it doesnt hurt. then you have to wait two days and go back so they can look at your arm to see if you had an effect to the medicine. and all depending on when you last had it, but you can be teated anytime. i have been tested twice in one yr before, because my job required it. you should be able to do it.

I had the BCG (TB immunisation) injection when I was 11, around the same time as the rubella immunisation (there was no MMR jab in those days). To see if you need the full BCG injection you have to have the Heaf Test, which is 6 tiny needles sort of stamped on the skin on your arm, which doesn't hurt at all. They leave it a few days to see if the mark turns red, if it does you need the BCG injection, if it doesn't, you don't need it as you already have the antibodies that make you immune. You certainly don't have to have an injection every 5 years for TB, but you need to have a tetanus booster every 10 years, or sooner if you need it due to a bite or an injury from a rusty object if the skin is broken.

You really should ask your school nurse or your doctor this question.
