I lost my immunization records? |
My records are totally lost. I have no idea where my parents kept them nor do I remember where I got the shots as a kid. In order to go back to school (I want to get a college degree) I will have to re take them all. How many shots at one time can they torture you with? I already tried the county where i lived as a child. No luck. oooooh sweetie you poor thing. My arm hurts just thinking about it. Just get them redone, it will protect you from the terrorists. your county health department will have them, hopefully cuz there is a lot of shots. ask your parents where your doctor was and they will have a record of this, if not get your mumps, diptheria and rubella done again, also have a tetenus shot while your at it, then put it in a safe spot Your GP will have a record of your shots. Ask and they will provide. I had the same problem when I went back to school. Most of the shots can be given in one day, however, you may get a little sore doing it that way. Contact your doctor and ask about a titer. A titer can determine if you are immune to a disease and if you have the antibodies for that disease. If you do, then you can use the titer verus having to reget the shots. A titer is a blood test that can check and see what all you have had or have gotten an immunization for previously. It can be expensive if you don't have insurance so you may decide it is easier to just get the shots. The doctor can make a schedule with you to lessen some of the discomfort. Keep in mind that some shots will probably still need to be repeat (due every 5, 10 years, etc.) and you will not have an option on those. |
