Is it normal to run a low fever with a stomach bug?

Last Friday I started feeling a little sick. I am sure I have IBS (irritable bowel syndrom) so I am use to bouts of an upset stomach but this one was different. I have felt more bloated than usual. I hate to say it but well just tons of gas. Also I've had diarrhea at times twice a day.
Yesterday my little boy complained of stomach aches. He too was burping a lot and passing gas. Luckily he didn't miss Halloween. He feels better today and only a few times he's complained of his stomach.

I also have IC (a painful bladder disorder). This can lower the immune system so most small illnesses will take me a lot longer than normal to get over it.

Anyway, today I'm running a small fever. Just about 99.4 or so. Now my normal temp is usually around 97 or so. This too is common with IC. So to me 99.4 is a fever.

Is this normal with a stomach bug?

It sounds like you had a virus.

Because of your low immune system, it probably made it less resistant of the symptoms and you got the full blown virus. Your little boy probably got the virus but he obviously has a better immune system. Maybe it was a virus that was very minor but your IBS set if off?
And yes of courseits normal!
