I had my rectum removed and have a ileostomy, is it normal to feel like you have to go to the bathroom? |
I have been diverted for 3 months now and just finished chemo & radiation. I started to feel and actually go to the restroom even through I have the ileostomy. Just wondered if this is normal - because it is painful and sometimes urgent It's called Phantom Rectal Pain. Just like a person who loses a limb can still feel it 'itch', so our body has to get used to the fact that it can't go to the loo in the old way anymore. Why are you asking here? Ask your doctor. |
