What causes stoma retraction in a loop ileostomy? and how can it be treated or prevented?

the stoma goes flat against my skin...and causes my bag to leak...it causes pain and pressure..

My fiancee has a stoma as well for an ostomy. When his bowels are empty, his stoma retracts. try using a two piece ostomy wafer/bag set and i would recommend you use stoma paste to keep you from leaking gas. check out conva tech's products, they have a wide selection of bags and wafers.
