Anyone out there that has an ileostomy+having any problems with it?

What type of problems are you having? Are you talking about leakage from around your flange?
For tips and product info check the companies web sites.

www.coloplast.com
Some tips include:
Make sure you change your flange in the am before you eat anything.
Use the adhesive remover wipes to remove all adhesive residue.
Wash area with warm water only-don't use any soap, as the oils in it will cause adhesive break down and cause premature failure.
Allow to dry fully
Apply your skin barrier protector, if using extended ware product don't use the spray protectant as it will cause premature failure,
Measure your stoma to check the size, if you need to cut your flange to size it should be cut to fit just around the stoma, Not on it and with no openings around it.
If you have "dimples around it or it retracts into the skin you need to use something like an eaken gasket, or a convesx flange.
Warm up your flange by keeping it in your armpit for 3 to 5 minutes.
Remove backing and apply paste. Apply to stoma
Once you apply your applicance keep your hand over it for 3 to 5 minutes. The warmth of your hand will help to activate the adhesive.
You can call any and all of the suppliers and request samples of different products to try..they will send them to you for free.
If all this doesn't help you may want to talk to an enterstomal therapist-that is a nurse who has specialized in caring for people with ostomies.
Ideally all products last 5 to 7 days. You should never exceed 7 days as you need to inspect your peristomal skin The area around the stoma.

What's wrong with it?Are you cleaning around the site with alcohol? You must keep the site clean. Is your skin irrated from the waffer?Because you can tell your doctor and he or she should be able to provide you with a glue like substance not harsh on the skin at all and works really well. The hospital I work at just got a sample of it.I don't know the name of it because I'm not in critical care but I work on the neo natal side of the hospital.E mail me back and tell me exactly what sort of problem you're having.I do my best to help you in any way that I can.

Here is a link to a fantastic message board for anyone with an ostomy! There are some really incredible people there with tons of info to share. I'm sure that whatever problem your having, they can help!
