Eleostomy Please help?

hi i had an ileostomy and i been having lots of acid reflux for the past two days i havent been able to retain any liquids or food i am still taking my nausea medicine but its not helping. Any suggestions or how to prevent this.

Sometimes diet can affect the acid reflux and nausea, so maybe a change in diet would help?

The following foods can affect ileoanal pouch functioning:
raw fruits and vegetables, (especially broccoli, beans and spinach) leafy green vegetables, spicy foods, beer ,alcohol, caffeine containing beverages and chocolate .

Can you try eating rice, potatoes, or pasta once a day or so ?
Even rice water ( the water off boiled rice ) can help. Boiled milk, rice, creamy peanut butter, and potatoes may be used as "binding" foods in some patients and can help with reflux.

You need to keep up your fluids, drinking 6-8 glasses of water a day or whateer your doctor has recommended, and in spite of the acid reflux you MUST eat regularly, and don't skip meals. Increased gas is produced when bowels are empty..... and that's not fun at all .

Sleeping or resting in a more upright position can sometimes help too.

Call your pharmacist or doctor to see what they recommend for the ongoing reflux.

I hope you feel better soon......
