Hysterectomy...tell me what to expect? |
I'm scheduled to get a vaginal hysterectomy very soon. I havent met with my doc yet (very soon though) to go over what I'm going to experience. Has anyone gone through this, and can you tell me what it's like afterwards. Does it effect your sex drive??? PLEASE serious answers only!!! My mother had one a few yrs ago and she was in a lot of pain whenever she moved for a few days. It's a big procedure. She had an incision right across her lower stomach which I had to help her dry with a hairdryer after her shower (she has an 'apron' from having kids). Gotta keep it clean and dry til it heals. I had to do everything around the house for about 2 months cos she couldn't lift anything. Can't tell you about the sex drive thing but since they're leaving your ovaries I shouldn't imagine it would change much. |
