Toatle Hysterectomy and Life After? |
Hi Ladies. I asked a hysterectomy question on here and forgot to ask a few questions. 1. Hospital stay depends on how well the patient is after the procedure. Typically they stay for about 2-3 days. The recovery time for an open hysterectomy is 4-6 weeks and sometimes longer due to the need to cut through the abdominal wall. My sis in law just had one. Not sure about the hospital stay but she was still recovering a month later. She said you don't need pap smears anymore. You should still go for a breast exam though but you can do that at the regular dr and not the gyno. I had one, yes I still have to have a pap smear. I was in the hospital for 2 days. My sister had one, and when she had a pap smear a couple of years later, she did have cancer. Thank God it was caught in time. You need to talk to your Dr. He or she will answer all of your questions. |
