Hysterectomy gone wrong!!?

I had a hysterectomy on July 26th for something that probably could of been prevented. I am in lots of pain and no one will really do anything about except give me more pills and they dont even work. They give me anything from vicodin to percacet. I talked to a lawyer and he said that I might have a case but I was wonderin if anyone else might of had the same experience?? I had 2 D&C's because of constant bleeding from them thats why I had the hysterectomy. I went to the doctor to see why my period wasn't comming after 7 months and my primary doc sent me to the doc who did the D&C's and put me in this mess. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It seems as if you have been getting jerked around since day one! I am glad that you consulted a lawyer, because the hysterectomy should have alleviated all of your problems. It sounds as if you have been to quacks posing as doctors/surgeons. Please follow-up with the lawyer and don't give up if it takes a while to get satisfactory results. Not much else can go wrong, I hope.

I am truly sorry for all of the pain and distress you have experienced, as well as the shotty treatment you have received. I wish you well with your case, as it does seem as if you definitely have one. Keep me informed of your progress.

If you had a hysterectomy July 26, it's NORMAL for you to be in pain. That's major surgery and the pain won't go away after a week. It will take you four to six weeks to heal. I don't think, at this point, that you can say it's "gone wrong." If it stops the bleeding, which is apparently what you wanted, I don't think it went wrong.

I would be surprised if you WEREN'T in pain this early on. Hysterectomy's are major surgery. I wouldn't jump to conclusions. Don't get sue-happy...of course the lawyer is saying you *might* have a case, he wants your money!

I had several D&C's for same reason, then decided on a tubal ligation and 2 yrs later decided for a "laparoscopy assisted vaginal hysterectomy" an relatively easy procedure. Right? Not only did I wake during the surgery, but I had a 5 cm tear in my bladder from the scopes, thus requiring major bladder repair, and a foley catheter for 9 weeks and a whole lot of pain. I agree with another participant. Don't go getting sue happy. I never sued after that incident even though I could have and most likely would have won. In the medical profession, when things go wrong we automatically think a Lawsuit is the solution. You need to sit back and think about your situation and whether you think you are permantly injured etc.
