my aunt had a hysterectomy about 10 years ago. a few weeks ago, at her yearly pap, her doctor found precancerous cells... however he also said she does not have a cervix since her hysterectomy... where could the abnormal cells be? how? our minds (my aunt and I) just cant wrap our minds around it. any insite would be appreciated could be precancerous vaginal or vulval cells. Did she have a hystorectomy due to cervical cancer?? If so then you need to keep an eye on it. Perhaps she didn;t have a full hysterectomy but just part, I know in the UK you stop having pap tests if you have had a full hyterectomy, but not if its only part. The best news is, they have been found, and therefore will get treated, if needed Then again, if you had a hystorectomy due to cell abnormality, then you will get what is called 'vaginal vault' same as pap tests but obviously the vagina is screened rather than the cervix.
erm sorry don;t really know any other reason
good luck! |
