im 14 and i have hypothyroidism. i know what it is and everything but i just wanted to know is it really thyroid disease cause on the bottle for cold pills and tylanol it says ask a doctor if u have thyroid disease. so is it okay to take it?? and also i have a groiter in my neck....will it go away?? i've been on medication for more that 2 years now and it hasnt gone down. any advice? I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about four or five years ago. I've never had a problem with taking Tylenol, Claritin, Amoxcillin, ZPac. My doctors have always said that it was ok. You may want to check with your doctor just in case. I've never had a goiter, so I can't answer your question about that. Just be sure to take your thyroid medicine everyday. its a life long illness. your goiter should go down I'm 15 and hypothyroidism runs in my family. I know that thyroid hormone pills stop the progression of the goiter, but you may have to get it removed if it is difficult to swallow... The warnings are more so for those that are hyperthyroid, as these over the counter products can increase heart rate, etc. Hi Donna, I am Hypothyroid, actually Athyroid, meaning I don't have one at all, I was born without one. So I have been on Synthroid my whole life. It's no picnic, I know. |
