Is this HYPOTHYROIDISM??!!?

(I just capitalized to capture your attention)
I am 15 years old, and I am wondering whether I have a
case of hypothyroidism. Lately, I just have not been hungry; I just feel sort of full all the time. Even after I eat like half a sandwhich, I get really full, a feeling that lasts until morning. Usually, I am starving in the morning and I often have a large breakfast, but lately, I just eat a waffle and I am not hungry until dinner time without eating lunch. Hungry or not, I just try to eat anyway, but I eat much less than I used to;however I seem to be gaining weight, because my jeans are noticeably more tight. Also, I noticed that I am more drowsy lately, despite the fact that I have been getting much more sleep lately. (midterms are over!!) Is this a sign of hypothyroidism, or am I just getting paranoid?Should I consult a doctor?It's just so weired, and I feel sort of embarassed about going to a doctor about matters that may just be trivial. Are these signs of hypothyroidism??!!

Nobody here knows anything, i know that because of the last 8 questions i asked only 2 were answered and one incorrectly. Your best bet is too look at webmd or wrongdiagnoses.com as thats all anyone here can do anyway (im not refering to the person above). try www.answerbag.com instead

Compared to the people here you will have better luck taking a crap and talking to the turd.

Could be. You really should go to the doctor and have a simple blood test to check you thyroid levels.

OK part of the problem is that if you're not eating on a regular schedule and your body thinks you're starving it you're going to gain weight, though this could also be a sign of hypothyroidism.

As a person who has hypothyroidism, I can tell you that filling up is NOT one of the symptoms <grinning>. However, weight gain can be, as is being sleepy. And, I mean REALLY sleepy.

Hypothyroidism can cause many different symptoms, such as:

* Feeling tired, weak, or depressed.
* Dry skin and brittle nails.
* Not being able to stand the cold.
* Constipation.
* Memory problems or having trouble thinking clearly.
* Heavy or irregular menstrual periods

A quick trip to your MD and a blood test will tell it all. If this is what you have then you need to get on meds sooner rather than later.

If you are just coming off mid-terms this could also be mono a common viral illness that can leave you feeling tired and weak for weeks or months.
