Hypothyroidism anyone? |
My symptoms...21-day-or-so cycles and bleeding or spotting with intercouse (doesn't matter when in the cycle it is...can be right after my period, right before or anywhere in between), moodiness/depression (lots of crying), and constipation. I've been exercising, eating right, taking vitamins, trying to solve the last two issues, but with little avail. As far as the first issue, I'm ruling out any physical abnormalities by way of culture and biopsies, of which I have not yet received the test results. I mentioned hypothyroidism to my doc, but he really didn't seem too intrigued with the possibility. I really just want to hear/read from anyone who has been diagnosed with this and what your symptoms were/are like. I'd push for testing for thyroid and for PCOS. Make sure to test in the morning and see about getting for the thyroid; TSH, free t4, free t3, and an antibody test. For the PCOS; fasting insulin, fasting glucose, progesterone, total testosterone, free testosterone. An under active thyroid would cause you to lose hair, coarse/dry hair, dry rough skin, moodiness, memory loss, abnormal or heavy menstrual bleeding. Your symptoms could be caused by a multitude of things, why did you suspect hypothyroidism first? They can easily do a blood test to test the function of your thyroid. Just have your doctor run a blood test to see if he hasn't already. i have been diagnosed with it my granny had a problem with that she had weight gain and wait loss they couldnt get her medicine just right .. I have hyperthyroidism, so u hav the exact opposite. |
