Hypothyroidism sufferers...? |
Once you've been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and begin taking synthroid (or some other drug), how long afterwards did you begin to feel "normal?" How long afterwards did you begin to lose weight or, at least, your weight didn't fluctuate so much? It all depends on how long it takes for you to get regulated on the proper dose of medicine. It's very important to have your TSH levels tested at regular intervals, so your doctor can adjust your dose accordingly. You should start to notice feeling better within a week to two weeks of taking the right dose. When I was first diagnosed with hypothyroidism and started taking Synthroid, it didn't take too long at all for me to start to feel alot better, but then my thyroid was so disfunctional by the time I was diagnosed anything felt better. It was so bad that I was falling asleep constantly and was driven to find out why when I almost fell asleep behind the wheel of my car with my daughter as a passenger. Sorry I can't give you an exact time limit though. |
