Hypothyroidism question? |
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 2 years ago and im 14. Last time i went to the endocrinologist she said that everything was fine except for the TSH. She said she wanted to lower the dose but shes afraid that wont be enough for me. Now i have difficulty concentrating and my memory is not as good as it used to be. why is that? i'm on syntheroid and my doctor wanted to lower the dose but didnt. my question is are these symptoms happening because she didnt lower it? I had exactly the same problem. Have been on thyroxine for approx 15 years. Although my TSH was low and the Doc wanted to decrease I didn't feel right. I felt like you describe for approx last 7yrs. Mentally i was really foggy, had frequent headaches. A new GP suggested Thyroid Support medication from Higher Nature. She claimed although I was taking a high dose of thyroxine I was not converting to use it. The example she gave was imagine having a microwave meal but no microwave to warm it up in. The Tyrosine in the Thyroid helps with the conversion. I have now reduced the dose of my thyroxine and take the Thyroid support with it. Call your doctor and tell her that. This is a symptom of hypothyroidism. She probably lowered your dose too much. Hey, you definitely need a blood test to check your levels. Unfortunately they do fluctuate throughout our lives... I've had my Thyroid out because of Cancer and my levels are still going crazy!! I take my levoxyl and have made my Doc prescribe Armour Thyroid as well..
