If u have HYPOTHYROIDISM as a teen (& ur short), and ur Doc gives u THYROID PILLS,can that make u grow taller?

yes, will those thyroid pills help u grow taller if ur a teen who has hypothyroidism?

since SHORT STATURE IS one of the symptoms
of hypothyroidism....

The pills (levoxyl, levothyroxine, or synthroid) are an artificial form of thyroid hormone which will help restore normal thyroid function. The medicine will not be directly responsible for helping you grow taller. However, the thyroid does assist in a child or teen's growth and development. Normal thyroid hormone levels are important in a growing child or young adult. It is important to always remember to take your dose as instructed, usually at the same time each day.
The pituitary gland and its growth stimulating hormone is what is responsible for how tall you will be. Both glands play an important role in growth. Some people are just short, while others are tall, and they are healthy and perfectly normal.

possibly

I had hypothyroidism as a young adult and used synthroid. I lost a lot of weight but stayed at 5feet 2 inches.

no, it will make you grow fat not tall.

I don't think the pills will help you grow taller. Your grow taller, if you were meant to get taller and it will have nothng to do with the thyroid meds. The thyroid meds however might make it so you won't gain weight if you are at the proper thyroid levels.

The thyroid pills will restore your physical growth and development.
