Can hypothermia make you hungry?

I know your body burns calories when you drink 16oz of ice water because it's trying to keep your body temperature normal, so does that carry over to hypothermia?

The past few days, we've had shotput practice outside, and a few of those days, it's been rather cold (about 30 degrees Fahrenheit). Even though we've been heavily layered up (while still having enough mobility to run), I came down with slight hypothermia the other day, but ever since it's gotten cold outside, I've noticed that I'm unusually hungry. We really haven't been working out any more than is normal.

Would it be plausible to hypothesize that hypothermia can make you hungry? Following the ice water train of thought, wouldn't it make sense for your body to be burning calories trying to keep itself warm when exposed to the elements?

Any detailed evidence that does or doesn't support my hypothesis is greatly appreciated.

yes, your body burns more calories to keep itself warm. You can also still become dehydrated in the cold, and even if you don't feel like it, drink water, and lots of it.
