How do you feel when you have hypothermia?


If anyone has ever been through it, that would be interesting - lots of info please.

Early symptoms include:

Shivering
Cold, pale, or blue-gray skin
Lack of interest or concern (apathy)
Poor judgment
Mild unsteadiness in balance or walking
Slurred speech
Numb hands and fingers and difficulty performing tasks
Late symptoms include:

The trunk of the body is cold to the touch
Muscles become stiff
Slow pulse
Breathing is shallow and slower
Weakness or sleepiness
Confusion
Loss of consciousness
Shivering may stop if body temperature drops below 90掳 (32掳).

Beware of the Symptoms

Initial Signs (Mild Hypothermia)
Bouts of shivering
Grogginess and muddled thinking
Breathing and pulse are normal

Danger Signs of Worsening Hypothermia
(Moderate Hypothermia)
Violent shivering or shivering stops
Inability to think and pay attention
Slow, shallow breathing
Slow, weak pulse

Signs of Severe Hypothermia
Shivering has stopped
Unconsciousness
Little or no breathing
Weak, irregular or non-existent pulse
