Would you consider this a suicide attempt, or any kind of SI?

Please answer. I've been trying to be honest with myself.

History of suicide attempts. Still SI--trying to stop. Haven't it two weeks (unless this is).

Okay, yesterday I went sledding. Kept falling, ending up twisting my ankle. Fell again into a snowbank--thought, screw it, I'll just lie here and die. Ended up passing out. Jogger found me. Taken to the hospital. Treated for Hypothermia and Frostbite and discharged.

The jogger was the one who found me. He basically shook me awake. And I resented it. I resented so much that he wake me or get me help. I just wanted to lie there. I didn't really want to be awake ever again anymore.

Kind of freaked out--but I am considering the Hypothermia/Frostbite an accident. I don't know if this is deluding myself. Am I okay, do you think, or should I maybe do something?

You should continue or seek psychiatric care. Until you know that medication isn't for you there's no reason to rule it out. I don't think that you think this way, but taking medication doesn't make you crazy. Being crazy makes you take meds. I have a lighthearted look at this type of stuff because I've been there, and actually once had a bad impulse become listed as a suicide attempt. Apparently, hysterically jumping out of a car and then not being able to vouch for why you did it gets you put on suicide watch. The best thing to do is go get help, and don't be the best actress you can be in front of he doctors. If they couldn't see through my front, I doubt they see through many of those put up by intelligent people. I was hospitalized twice and out within a week both times and went straight back to cutting within an hour of being left alone.

Gettin better has a lot to do with knowing yourself. If you know the warning signs you know when you should seek help. I just hope you're better than me. I've been going back and forth between wanting to check myself in and avoid being baker-acted*sp?* again and just trying to deal with it. it's hard, but there's a light at the end of the tunell. I promise. I have faith enough to beleive that I'll at least see mine someday.

read that, and decide for yourself. if you think this is normal, then just continue on with your life. if you don't, seek professional help.

but the fact that you're asking this in the first place, means you know the answer. you just want someone to tell you otherwise.

Assuming this is not a bogus post...

I think you know the answer. I think you know you aren't ok.

You should seek help.

I'm no docter, but when you've been hurt, it's not like you can actulaly go and get up and walk a mile to the base of the ski lift. that's not suicidal, that's for sure. Suiocide is when you try to kill yuoself, and if you fell like that, not intended, it wasn't suicidal.

yes, and you shouldn't just 'lay somewhere to die' and have other people help you

please find out whats missing in your life and find some of it1 thats the only answer.

Yes, you definitely need help, It sounds like you are severely depressed. Talk to a Dr.

You are lucky to have snow.
