Does anyone know what postural hypotension is?? It's a drop in your blood pressure when you rise from a lying position to sitting or to standing...It can cause dizziness, fainting, confusion, and falls.....Causes can be found if you google it.... Orthostatic hypotension (also known as postural hypotension and, colloquially, as head rush) is a sudden fall in blood pressure, typically greater than 20/10 mm Hg, that occurs when a person assumes a standing position. a drop in blood pressure usually from a change in body position. It means the blood pressure changes (drops) based on the body postion. It is common in older people. a drop in blood pressure that may cause light-headedness when going to a vertical position such as standing after sitting, or sitting after lying down, can also faint but will revive right away also called orthostatic hypotension |
