Anxiety medication?

basically all my anxiety is comming back at me. i cant concentrate in class because im too busy trying to figure my average out. i'm a sophmore and i'm already stressing over college and how i'm going to get through it when i have anxiety attacks from being separated from my house/family. every corner i see i think someones behind it waiting to stab me. being around people makes me tense up. i'm always overly scared, one thing after another.

anyways i was on Rispderdal for a couple months and all it did was make me emotionless.

what's a good medication for anxiety that's not an anti-psychotic or an anti-depressant, that's not addictive, that wont kill my personality, and doesn't have too many side effects?

i have a problem with sleeping too much&being overly tired and i have orthostatic hypotension..so nothing that will worsen those symptoms.

Please talk to you family doctor. Yes, there are some very good anti-anxiety meds out there, but they are only part of the solution. You need to get into some counseling, so you can discover what's reallly going on and what you can do about it.

before getting any percription for any medication go to a mental health clinic and speak with some counselor about this, They will direct you on what to do and take.

st. john's wort may help.

Yes I would definitely say that you need to go and speak with a professional about your situation. With regards to anxiety meds - most of them are addictive - Here's a website that I have often found quite helpful:

You need to go and see your doctor straight away. Your personal life is being affected. Do not rely on theadvice of non medics formedication. You need towork that partout for yourself with your doctor as you have other medical problems.
