Is low blood pressure dangerous?


I just got a fittness exam done today. I am 167cm 5ft 6ins and weigh 53kg (8stone) I have been told according to my body mass index that I only have 6.5 % fat in my body. I was told that it's a good think to be so low.

However when I was examined for blood pressure I was 122/73.
I don't know anything about blood pressure but I was told I have low blood pressure and possible hypotension. I suffer from depression and social anxity disorder I am quite nervous. I am extremely athletic though I run swim go to the gym and do karate. Recently though I find myself getting very worn out.

I am not sure if there is anything wrong. I do feel funny these past few days. I couldnt run or swim as well as I usually do.

Is it dangerous to have low blood pressure?

鈾?It is dangerous to have low blood pressure for many various reasons. However your blood pressure is not low. A normal blood pressure reading is between 110-130/60-80. So you are actually in the perfect range! I wouldn't worry about your blood pressure.

Apparently it is haha, I have low blood pressure too and when I was in a science lab class we had to get our blood pressure taken and the teacher couldn't do mine because she said it was sow low that she couldn't measure it. I mean Its better to have low blood pressure than high blood pressure but you can pass out from not having enough oxygen to your brain fast enough..you should be careful with all the sports you do. you could put yourself in danger

"Medical Assistant" told you right. My blood pressure ran
90/50 for 30 years. It's slightly higher now - I'm pushing 60
years old. Don't think you have to worry about blood pressure. Just being told you are low can make you worry and feel bad. Seek help on the depression and you will feel much better. Wishing you well.

Your blood pressure is a very healthy blood pressure. Blood pressure has a lot to do with diet, and exercise. As you say you are extremely athletic and this helps to keep your blood pressure low. It can be dangerous to have very low blood pressure too, but yours is a healthy one.

You are very slim and at the lower end of the BMI range in weight. You need to make sure you are eating enough calories and the the right foods. As this can make you feel very sluggish if you don't

It would be a good idea to go to the doctors to just get checked out if you are not feeling too well. He/She should be able to take a few simply blood tests, just to see that everything is OK.
