Has anyone experience low blood pressure on an antidepressant?

Did it result in you getting postural hypotension and cause you to faint?

Actually I passed out just the day before yesterday after taking seroquel, my bp when they finally got one was 70/30

My doc had to belive me... my husband is a paramedic and was the one who came to the house from where I fainted from it... it does happen... I would get a bp monitor and then you have proof for the doc. good luck! Report It

Interesting you ask this. I started taking an SSRI antidepressant a little over a year ago. I experimented with several and then stuck with one on a very low dose that works for me. Somewhere I read that SSRIs can cause low blood pressure after I noticed when I was having my blood pressure checked at my doctor appointments and it was lower than usual. My usual all my years has been in the normal range like 120/80. I questioned my doctor about my low blood pressure and he and his nurse pretty much blew me off and told me not to worry about it. Something about our bodies change as we go along. I have not fainted although occasionally I get a slight dizziness upon arising and I attribute it to a lower blood pressure than is my normal. However, not getting any of those crying spells is a relief. So, I stay on the darn stuff. My doctor wanted me to go up on my dosage but I found the low dose works and insisted on staying on it.

Mine is always on the lower end of good, so maybe it is effected, but no fainting due to the drugs. I used to black out before I got on them.

I'm on wellbutrin and a few other pills that cause high blood pressure and I still have very low blood pressure. when I started wellbutrin I had to monitor my blood pressure b/c hypertension is a side effect. I have had low blood pressure all my life, so I dunno if it does cause it, but it seems like it's been worse the past few months.
