Hypoglycemia?

If someone feels weak from low blood sugar what kind of weakness is it and what exactly do you feel?

Hi Jacq

Here are some ideas to use.

Cause
Hypoglycemia can be caused by excess consumption of simple sugars and refined carbohydrates, food allergies, low thyroid function, nutrient deficiencies (especially vitamin B6, chromium, zinc, essential fatty acids and amino acids such as alanine), excessive exercise, stress, skipped meals (especially breakfast), irregular eating habits, excessive alcohol, drug, or cigarette consumption, over consumption of caffeine beverages, poor protein digestion, protein deficiency, poor digestion due to other factors, low digestive enzymes, low fiber diets, and an excessively refined and processed diet. To achieve lasting relief of hypoglycemia symptoms, all of these factors must be screened for and addressed.

Chronic muscular tension caused by stress throughout the body, particularly in the spinal regions, is another potential cause of hypoglycemia, since stressed body tissues burn fuel at a higher than normal rate, creating a constant need for glucose.

Caution: Although hypoglycemia can exist by itself, it may be an early warning sign for pancreatic and diabetic problems. If your condition persists, seek immediate medical attention.

Natural Cures

Diet: Be sure to have breakfast and make it a protein rich meal. Also eat smaller, more frequent meals throughout the day to help keep blood glucose levels up and to help heal the pancreas and adrenals. Be sure your diet consists of organic, whole foods diet and avoid stressor foods such as caffeine, refined sugars, and alcohol. Instead, emphasize fibrous foods, whole grains, seeds, nuts, fermented dairy products, and lean meats and fish. Also be sure to identify and avoid food allergies, and eliminate processed foods, dehydrated powders, and white flour products.

Herbs: Licorice, burdock, and dandelion can help to regulate blood sugar levels.

Juice Therapy: Combine the juice of carrot, beet, burdock root, Jerusalem artichoke, and garlic and drink an 8-ounce glass once or twice a day.

Nutritional Supplementation: The following nutrients can be helpful in preventing and reversing hypoglycemia: chromium, vitamin B complex, vitamin B6, niacin or niacinimide, pantothenic acid, vitamin C with bioflavonoids, calcium, magnesium zinc, trace minerals, free-form amino acids, and adrenal glandulars. If hypoglycemia is due to incomplete absorption of nutrients from food, take hydrochloric acid (HCL) and digestive enzymes. Vitamin B injections can also be helpful as a means of increasing energy levels.

Best of health to you

Just like you said, weakness, shaky, blurred vision. Too much coffee aggravates the condition and causes the same symptoms. So stay away from coffee.

Do not have sugar as it will just aggravate a new cycle.
Eat some protein like cheese or have a glass of milk. Your body probably craves the food you need.

The condition tends to appear in people with active metabolisms, thin or nervous people. I have had it most of my life. The right foods are the key.

Hypoglycemia results from a low glucose level in the body. This will make the person feel shaky because of the need of glucose. your brain needs glucose as its main energy source so Hypoglycemia will also cause headaches. You can get Hypoclycemia from fastening and is worse coupled with excersise. If you are a diabetic this is mostly due to an overdose in insulin you had. Hope things get better,

Symptoms of Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar).
**Early signs:
Trembling
Clamminess
Palpitations
Anxiety
Sweating
Hunger
Treatment is eating a candy bar, O.J. with sugar added, peanut butter sandwich, or almost any carbohydrate.
Symptoms should subside within 15 min.
A blood glucose monitor would come in handy.

***Late stages: (Medical care required)
When the brain is deprived of glucose the symptoms become more severe:
Difficulty in thinking
Confusion
Headache
Seizures
Coma
Death if not treated.

Low blood sugar is caused by too much insulin secreted by the pancreas. This can either be from fasting, dieting, skipping meals, or too much insulin by injection. ( diabetic)
Exercise, jogging, over exertion can drop blood sugar quickly if you have not eaten prior to these activities.

It's actually not called hypoglycemia in the medical profession anymore. It's called a pre-diabetic episode. Some people have trouble regulating insulin naturally, whether from diet or inherent reasons. The symptoms can range from dizziness, fainting, nausea, weakness, sweating, urge to eat,and similar reactions. You don't necessarily have to be diabetic to have this happen, though if it happens alot you need to really be careful with your diet, exercise, medications and have your blood tested regularly for glucose levels. Avoid eating high carbohydrates, not only sugary foods, then going for long periods of not eating. Some medications can cause irregular insulin production and/or your bodies ability to regulate insulin use. You can find out all about this on diabetic websites. I think IMPACTING LIVES had some really good answers for you.
