I Have Hypoglycemia At 14 Years Old All The Syptoms Equal Me What Can I Do To Help Hypoglycemia At My Age?

i have Hypoglycemia at 14 years old i get really tired confused and can't speak right my mother won't take me to the doctor again so please give me a over the counter treatment for it i have double vision also with it so please help me i am really scared i can't even go out with my friends i am so tired HELP???? PLEASE.

I would check your sugar often, at least 4 times a day, before meal and at bedtime. Also keep a log of your blood sugars to take to the doctor when you go next time. I would recomment small meal often if you are having trouble keeping your sugar from getting to low. Also keep snacks in your purse or backpack that you can eat if you are feeling sick.

I don't know enough details about your situation. My best advice would be to head to your local clinic or tell a relative.

The only thing I can suggest is keep some sugar pills near. Eat small frequent snacks. If you know you are going to be active (running, walking, swimming) eat a extra snack before hand. Good luck hope you get to feeling better. Oh honey and orange juice is great to eat or drink.

Why won't your mother take back to the dr? That is just cruel. Hypoglycemia is basically low blood sugar. You need to eat healthy and frequently. Keep healthy snacks on hand, like oranges. Don't eat candy bars b/c they will raise your sugar then it will bottom out and you will feel worse than you did before. As soon as you start to feel bad, eat something. It will seem like you are eating all the time, but you can choose low fat healthy snacks and be fine. Go to webmd and look up hypoglycemia for more tips.

Hypoglycemia is diabetes, and if you have been officially diagnosed with diabetes, you need a prescription for the medication to treat it. Vision problems often go hand in hand with diabetes. There are not over the counter medications that you can use to truly control your diabetes, but you can control it with careful diet and exercise.

I've listed a website in my sources that you can refer to.

Also, if you truly have diabetes, get in contact with someone at your school and let them know you are not being medicated properly. They can make sure that you get the help that you need. It is VERY IMPORTANT that you are on the right medications. When you have diabetes, your body cannot process food the way it is supposed to when you are healthy.

If money is the problem, there are many programs out there that can help you. Check out Liberty Medical, which delivers your medical supplies to your home for a lower cost than you would get in the pharmacy. Please get this taken care of, diabetes is very serious!

drink orange juice of a morning and evening
also eat a well balanced meal 3 times daily
peanut butter is a good snack

I would think so. If I am super hungry, I get very irritable, which I am sure is because of a current state of low blood sugar. I am nearly positive the two should be related.
