Hyperthyroidism question?

I am 22 and I think I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism around 17. I have been taking 10 mg of tapizole everyday to control my thyroid but I still have bulging eyes. I guess they don't bother me that much, but as I get older are they going to get worse? I mean I will take the medicine as long as I need to but I was wondering if there are any long term affects with hyperthyroidism.

Also, I always read how people with hyperthyroidism are skinny. I'm not very overweight but not skinny either, is this strange?
