Hyperthyroidism Questions!? |
I'm 16 and was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism 2 years ago. I had gone from 110lbs to about 150lbs in a matter of months (Because my doctors had given me medication to stabilize me, but ended up making me hypothyroid by over doing it) . I had been working out alot and gradually losing weight. I think I weigh about 129lbs now, but I'd like to keep losing weight. I realize that I can only eat certain foods and no iodine. Does anyone have any tips to what will help me lose weight and what is okay for me to eat? Also, after 2 years my throat is still a little swollen, will that ever go down? Overactive thyroid - well I have been the same as you for four years and my throat is no better either. It is possible to have hashiomoto"s- hypo/ and Graves-hyper at the same time, so what hope do we have, just exercise hard girl. You can actually try a gluten free and dairy free diet as well. good luck eat 6 small meals a day healthy meals and small at that its going to b very hard since meds have alot to do with it the best way to find out whats ok to eat is to go to a health food store and get a book or two on hyperthyroid and it will tell u.. if u had goiters and had surgery on them then no pain might not ever go away i had surgery 3 yrs ago and mine still hurts and throat is hoarse and will always be good luck |
