Does Hyperthyroidism cause low blood sugar level? |
I was just recently diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism. My TSH level came out to be 14.42 . My blood test result also indicated that my blood sugar level was 50 (LOW). I was not fasting the day I got the blood test done. My doctor said my blood sugar level was probably low because I was hungry. Since, I got the test done around 12 noon and that's usually when you eat lunch. I know 50 is too low! and TSH 14.42 is too high! It's weird because I am not experiencing any SEVERE symptoms. My question is can Hyperthyroidism lower your blood sugar level? You need to go back to your doctor and have all of this explained to you. Make him start from the beginning. Take notes, and get copies of all of your lab results. Because you are not hyperthyroid with a TSH level of 14.2. That's extremely, dangerously hypothyroid. |
