Can Birth Control Pills cause hyperthyroidism/hypothyroidism... |
Since I switched from normal (ovcon-35) to low-dose (Ortho tri cyclen lo) birth control pills, my hair has been falling out alot. That was 8 months ago. in June, I switched to a higher dose birth control (ovcon 50), and my hair is shedding at an increasing rate. And now I'm very fatigue. I know the low-dose of hormones are the cause of my hair failing out, but it should of stopped when I switched. Can birth control pills be causing another problem, such a hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism, which is causing these symptoms of hair shedding and chronic fatigue? I do not think the birth control pills can actually cause thyroid problems. I was on them for 10 years until my kids...but before I started the pill, I was told I was borderline hypothyroid and just needed to be followed. |
