Does salt cause Hypertension? |
Does salt cause Hypertension? salt causes water to be pulled out of your intracellular tissue and into the extracellular(you puff up)..this causes the blood to become thicker and the heart has to work harder to pump it by increasing the number of beats (hypertension) From what I know, yap salt can cause hypertension if you take a huge quantity. You read too much. Reading about Hypertention causes hypertension. Go get laid or watch CSI... If you have hypertension it can make it worse but it doesn't actually cause it. Age, genetics, kidney disease and obesity cause it. Salt can cause fluid , bloat, well like a balloon can only retain so much air and then the latex reaches its stress point and pops, No, your body need salt, they lie. Yes it can do. But like most things if it is taken in moderation it shouldn't be a problem..... YES! Yes it does I have a few health problems and cause of one of them I have to have extra salt so that has caused Hypertension so am on tablets for that and due to another problem I have to take Ibuprofen which the knocks the effects of the tablets I take for Hypertension. My doctors are good and I have to come off the Ibuprofen as I need the salt only can't come off them completely until I have my jaw replacement. Top priority in my case is to have the extra salt and to hope that I get my op very soon. One drug can interact with another, my doctors check them out and so do I, vicious circle for me. It is difficult to be certain, it is generally felt that a lifetime of above optimum salt levels does increase the risk of hypertension. Too much salt can exacerbate the problem, but has been shown to not actually cause it. For actual causes, look to overweight and genetics. I know because I have high blood pressure for those very reasons. Cutting out sugar, eating soy and exercise are doing wonders for me, as are the 6,000 mg of fish oil supplements I am taking every day. Meditation and walking away from stressful situations also help! It depends upon the cause of your hypertension. For some, salt has no effect one way or the other. If you have the type of hypertension that responds to diuretics, then salt reduction would be helpful. NaCl increases fluid retention thus increasing blood volume. In itself it does not cause hypertension, and with present drugs diet for simple hypertension is not important. Yes. We don't need to add salt to our food on the plate, or in cooking, as we need very little salt. It is found in most processed foods, such as bacon, sausages, etc., ans even a lot of breakfast cereals, biscuits, canned foods. One of the causes of hypertension is salt intake -high sodium content in food and alcohol increase the blood pressure. More details available at http://ailments.in/hypertension.html yes it is a known and well documented risk factor. Ditch your salt seller House on that TV program has said it does but That's just a T.V. program. As for me I don't know but if I holler after being insulted.. I tend to crave salt things! French Fries or Soya Burgers! Or just celery with salt! Sometimes I polish off a jar of cheese. That's salty. When I'm really angry and holler I go for Danish cheese! After I have my fill of salty things then I start craving sweets! I believe so. |
