Hot flashes....but I'm only 26?!?!?

For the past 6 months I seem to be going through hot flashes but I am only 26. There are times at work where I'll just become really hot and my face will become a little sweaty. I'll have to fan myself off. Lately when my friends and I go out dancing I seem to get hot really easy...(it will be warm in the club but I am sweating and none of my friends are)...what makes it worse is that I have a wedding coming up late this year and I don't want to have these embarassing moments happen when I'm walking down the isle. Does anyone have this problem...guess I've been a little embarassed to see a doctor. Thanks!

Does anyone in your family history have thyroid disease? Common symptoms of the condition called thyrotoxicosis or hyperthyroidism include:Nervousness, anxiety, increased perspiration, heat intolerance, tremor, hyperactivity, palpitations, weight loss despite increased appetite, reduction in menstrual flow or oligomenorrhea. Common signs of thyrotoxicosis include the following: hyperactivity, tachycardia or atrial arrhythmia, systolic hypertension, warm, moist, and smooth skin, lid lag, stare, tremor, muscle weakness.

Ultimately, you would need to see your physician for blood testing. Other than that the differential could include anxiety over your pending marriage, but that is hard to determine.

Also, it should be noted that if you are taking any pills for diet or birth control, that side effects from certain medications are "hot flashes, and related symptoms.

Good luck.

Thats nothing, doctors have seen and heard MUCH worse. Besides thats what there here for.

Dear,

Please consult immediately a lady doctor without wasting time on the net.

You have to work out what's changed in the last 6 months - the chances are its linked to your hot flushes (not 'flashes' lol). Could it be due to this impending marriage? Maybe your body's trying to tell you he's not 'the one'! Good luck figuring it out!

That's possible due to a hormonal imbalance.

Go see your Gyn for diagnosis and treatment.

stress and diet! your stress up , odds are diet has changed , worst case could be hypoglcemia ( unsure of spelling) went 2 the dr bout 10 months ago, he told me ohhhhhhh ya its the worst case , change diet 2 low 2 no dextrose , fuctose , lotsa tea , rest , stretching.......ect......go bak 2 wks later after changes , no flashes , feelin so much better .
he lied 2 me ! i was planning a wedding also he knew i didnt want 2 here oooooh just stress! none the less it helped, alot!!!! my advice stretch , tea , hot bubble bath with candels, sex with fiancee!! congratulations & good luck (:(:

Could be a lot of reasons.Get it checked out.Best wishes for the future.

Did your doctor check your hormone levels? If not, you should request that. Your hormone levels being off can cause these symptoms - it doesn't mean you are going through menopause.
