Hot flashes out of control!!!? |
I'm 45, and have been experiencing major hot flashes for about a month now. I had a few before that, but right now it is unbearable. They just come one after another. I've been taking supplements, black cohosh, even changing to soy foods. Nothing helps!!! You are going to have to ask your doctor for something, trust me I have been trying different things for 2 yrs. Nothing worked till the doctor gave me something for it. And I still have bad ones sometimes. I am afraid it is something we have to live with for a while. Becareful what you take if there is a history of breast cancer in your family there are some medications that can increase your risk of getting breast cancer. Talk to your doctor. Sounds like a hormone imbalance. Go to the doctors, he may treat it with hormone pills. Whatever, it's best to have it checked out.. its menopause, my mom is going through the same thing. It can be cold in a room and she is pouring sweat. SHe now takes a pill called Remifemin. They sell it at most drug and grocery stores, it is for people who are going through menopause and she said her hot flashes have almost dissapeared. my mom has those and she just deals with them. I wish i knew more to help i tried black cohosh too, it didn't work. i was still having 6-12 a day. try a 400 i.u. vitamin e caplet once a day. i started using this the beginning of july and after about a week i'm only having a one or two a week. good luck, hot flashes suck. You have'nt been taking the right thing. Read up on this supplement called PLUS on this site.... sit on some ice Try a rigorous exercise program. Hot flashes will not go way completely or immediately , but it will help a lot. Give it 3 months or so... Im talking about 2 hours of exercise a day.... housework, gardening and golf don't count. (Keep doing them though, it can only help). NOw it just depends on how much you are willing to work. You can't sit on your butt hoping this thing will just "go away", because it won't. Or, You can opt for medications. This way you can spend more money, have side effects, and stay sitting on your butt. Its your choice. The pharmacuetical companies want you to choose the easy road (If you call that easy) Good luck... |
