My grandfather is receiving hospice care and I believe my step grandmother is not telling me something? |
Being on hospice does that mean my grandfather does not have long to live. I need to know because their is a lot that I need to tell my grandfather before he dies Hospice care is for the end of life. My brother had hospice for about 3 months before he died. You can go ahead and talk to your gr'father anyway as it is important to have closure. Your grandmother may be in denial about his illness, therefore not wanting to talk about it. Hospice nurses can also help the family through this by explaining what stages to expect at the end of life. They are there for the family. yes it means he does not have much longer to live, no more then a few days. im sorry. i wish you are able to tell him how you feel. good luck to you. Hospice patients arent necessarily knocking on Heaven's door. However, hospice is usually reserved for those patients who do have some sort of terminal illness, especially if they arent going to be receiving treatments beyond pain control. yea I'm sorry to tell you but that is whats going on he is going to pass soon. they do that when their is nothing else they can do for him so they try to make him as comfortable as possible Go tell him what you need to. He may be heavily sedated soon and it's best to do it now. Hospice care is normally for terminal (dying) patients who need more care than is available at home , but who dont need full hospital treatment. Yes my dear I am afraid that your grandfather may not have long to live. Hospice care is usually one of the last services that are offered to people who are dying. These services are provided to the patients and there are services available for the family as well It is used many time as a support team.. If you have things that you want to tell your grandfather then you should do so. You will have an easier time in dealing with his death. Make peace with yourself and your grandfather so that when he does pass on then you don't have any bad feeling of I should of I wish I would have. Just tell him and let him know how much you love him. |
