They have a a wicked spirit of homosexuality and need intense prayer similar to an excersism
They have a mental illness no different from having ADD , OCD, or any other mental illness that can be treated by medication which scientist are currently working on and plan on releasing in the years 2050
They have a birth defect that causes then to be attracted to the same sex
what are your thoughts on a possible cure througfh medication
do you or do you not think it will be successfull

I refuse to call it a "birth defect" but I believe certain parts of the brain may be different in heterosexuals and homosexuals. Not abnormal or defective but just different. I don't believe your sexuality, gay or straight, is a "choice". I think they should scrap any research on finding "cures" through medication and concentrate on cures or better treatments for things such as cancer, heart disease, AIDS, Alzheimer's and other major illnesses. Children are dying of leukemia and brain tumors for Heaven's sake. Who cares if people are gay?

I think that people are pretty much born gay, a lot of people say that they have been able to tell that there friend or son has been gay from when they where little boys!

I dont think it is possible to cure with any medication, trying to cure it with medication would just be stupid. People have a right to choose the way they want to live, and being gay is really no different to being straight, love is love!

I think people are born gay or straight, even bi.
I have had many gay/lesbian friends and am bi myself. I know that none of them would be "cured" through any methods you mentioned. Some tried to live the expected lifestyle for a long time before admitting the truth. That includes me. For me, it is about the person I meet, not their sex.
For my gay friends, they are just not attracted, or interested in, the opposite sex.

I believe that somewhere in there life something happened. I have known people that were gay, and there seems to be a pattern. Lack of a male figure, being molested by a male, being called gay in your childhood. I think that these things cause it, along with several others. It's not something you are born with. It's not a disease. For instance, someone who grew up with a ....not much of a father, then maybe was molested by a male. So he turns gay as an adult searching for that proper, fulfilling relationship that he never really had. Similar to a girl who wasn't fulfilled by the relationship with her father, so she seeks out an older man to fill that spot that is empty.
It's a mental thing, not necessarily an illness, but .....similar to depression.
I don't think it's right, their lifestyle, but I have compassion, because it's unnatural, therefore it was caused by something within their life.
It goes against what I believe in the word of God, the Bible.
But, I have nothing against the person. I have known and loved some, I know that deep within them is a missing link.
Something that hurt them psychologically.
Not as if I'm going to save them. But.....
From whom I have known, and what I have seen in my life. This is what I very strongly believe.

They are born, attracted to the opposite sex......I dont believe that it is a birth defect as how can that be proven....... I think that these people only find out as they grow up that they are not like the "others" and dont feel "normal" and so they hide it from their family and many hide it from themselves, believing that perhaps one day they will in fact be attracted to the opposite sex....... (that is my thought....)

I personally dont think a cure is necessary as these people go on to love and live relatively normal lives....... How can anybody judge them? People need to look at themselves and their own problems before judging others who are simply trying to adjust within their own situations......

I also ask you, would / does God condemn these people? They are only trying to find the same things in life that so many others take for granted and yet are persecuted by the rest of society....... for what? Trying to find love and have a family......

Thinking about the sex part can be scary, yeah, but there are so many 'normal' people out there having 'weird' sex or others who become obsessed with sex or what about pedophiles........

Society as a whole needs help and mostly, we are persecuting the wrong people..... who havent done anything wrong, except maybe hurt their parents by telling them the truth about their sexual persuasion......

Some people are gay because of a wicked spirit of homosexuality that had demonized (not demon-possessed) them through their past experiences or the environment they grew up with (e.g. molested when still a child, adopted by gay couples, hanging out with gays, influenced by the media which promotes homosexuality). No one chooses to be gay unless influenced by homosexuality one way or another. These people become homosexuals because SIN (personal or contributed) paved the way for demons to easily influence their thoughts by making them think that homosexuality is okay. This deceit by the devil is in total contradiction to what the Bible says, "Homosexuals will not inherit the kingdom of God.' (1 Cor. 6:9)

As a gay woman who's know since she was in high school that she was gay and who has a brother who's also gay I know that being gay is something you're born with like your eye color or hair color. It's as much a part of a person at birth as their gender or IQ aptitude. Being gay is not something that you become because of abuse or not getting along with your parents. It's something that you're born with. If that wasn't the case than why have they found cases of homosexuality in nature?? The animals don't have the ability to chose whether or not they want to be gay. I think that it's becoming more and more evident that being gay is genetic like height or skin color. It may be that some day we'll find a receive gene that causes people to be homosexual. For your information the American Psychiatric Association has removed being gay from being a psychiatric disorder back in the 1970's early 1980's get a copy of the DSM-IV and it won't be listed as a psychiatric problem.

People are born gay. There was always the big debate of "born or bred"....but it is most definately with them from birth. Nothing wrong with it. God made us who we are. But I don't believe that every person with an overbearing mother will turn gay. Not possible. (even though that's what the catholics always said in school)
