Is homosexuality still seen as a mental illness?

Just wondering.

Homosexuality is a socially induced behavioral pattern.
It is not genetic. Some people are born a little more masculine or feminine than their sex would allow them to be. Outside social influences cause the individual to be more prone to sexual insecurity which may or may not lead to same sex attraction. (Unaccepting parents (particularly fathers), child molesters, name calling, etc.)

(I don't think they choose to feel that way... but I believe their feelings can be changed (only if they are willing))

Nope. Removed from the DSM-IV (diagnostic manual for mental disorders) in the 90's sometime (or maybe slightly before). They only update it every ten or so years. A new one, the DSM-V is coming out soon and like the IV, it will not include homosexuality as a mental disorder.

i don't see it as mental illness.

i have no clue how most people "see" it and i know i'll prbably get a few thumbs down for this...but saying homosexuality is a mental illness is like saying being straight is an illness...

Homosexuality is nothing but same sex affection. A gay relationship is male on male. Lesbian relationships is female on female. A transgender human or a hermaphrodite is human born with both female and male reproductive organs. A bisexual human is someone who loves both gender regardless of his/her own gender. Many people believe that homosexuals go to hell since "GOD" made Adam and Eve, a male and female couple. There is an organization that supports this type of community called the LGBT. Now it's being done in schools as the GSA (Gay Straight Alliance) or just LGBT (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender). Many people either support or oppose rights to these people. Many famous people have decided to "come out of closet".

Barack Obama is against homosexuality. Homosexuality also violates the code of Islamic religion. They would kill anyone accused of homosexuality. Now that's a mental illness!!!! Why kill a human just because he/she is a homosexual? We're still human regardless of our sexual orientation!!!!

Homosexuality is a choice. It may have been an innocent choice made by a child from some influence and even may have been forgotten, Children forget. Yet this choice can effect a child as it grows. Even to the point a child may think they were born gay.
