Is homosexuality a psychological disease? A disease is something which impairs you. No, homosexuality was removed from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders by the American Psychiatric Association in 1963 (or 1966, I forget which year). So the mental health profession does not consider it to be a disorder. No it is not, but unfortunately it was officially considered such for a long time in the DSM -- and some people think so now. People tend to think that "sex" between two of the same "gender" is unnatural, and anything unnatural is wrong, sick, sinful, diseased. Of course, what is deemed unnatural usually has less to do with biology, per se, and more to do with political and cultural biases. maybe no more than heterosexuality is. Some people think so, although I don't. |

Being a homosexual isn't a disease. You don't aquire homosexuality, or become gay. You just are. It's like saying what causes people to have brown hair. It's just the way... Well, rectal tissue is much more delicate than skin in other places. Anal sex can cause tearing of that tissue, leaving you more prone to bacteria and viruses. It gives them a doorway, if you will.... |
